Fabulous ex Dan Daly Group B rally car. Completely rebuilt by specialists, on the button and ready to win again. Very rare car with great history.
This is the GXI 111 car but reg not with car. Dan Daly still has it and will sell to the new owner. Photos of its 1986 season in Ireland will be supplied with the car, together with copies of the workshop manual and homologation papers.
Car has been stripped to shell and then fully restored, with all parts having been checked, refurbished or replaced and the car brought back to the correct GpB spec, but leaving the special bits of development that Dan Daly did to the car so the car remains original.
Car refurbishment and assembly was by Protec, using specialised companies for items such as electrics, propshaft and alike. Body restoration and spray done by shop recommended by Rallyart in Preston. Car is in extremely good condition with a very high degree of originality in spec. It is extremely rare to find such a 240RS, of which it is estimated only 35 cars survive. This car having the significant Dan Daly history to compliment it.
ENGINE
240RS tarmac 270 bhp spec engine. Engine stripped and completely rebuilt including:
Head rebuilt with new valve guides, valve seats, double springs, re-shimmed and head gasket (special order) WRC spec
New bearings
All new gaskets
Dry sump pan and dry sump tank refurbished, dry sump pump rebuilt. Renwe bulkhead fittings
Rebuilt distributor & new cap/rotor arm
Rebuilt starter
Carbs stripped and refurbished & new air filter (DD spec)
Refurbished works exhaust manifold & original system refurbished
Rebuilt electric fan
CLUTCH
Works AP spec twin plate
New clutch plates, slave cylinder, clutch release arm
Master cylinder refurbished
GEARBOX
Nissan Team Europe option 2
Prop shaft rebuilt
STEERING
Works rack (not worm box)
All joints replaced as required
SUSPENSION
Wide front track rose jointed tarmac spec with tarmac struts
Rose jointed rear radius arms
Tarmac springs all round
New wheel bearings
All suspension repainted and furbished as required. Suspension is original Dan Daly development.
AXLE / DIFF
Andy Dawson rebuilt diff including cwp
Works spec 30 mm drive shafts
BRAKES
Works spec AP 4 pots, which have been refurbished
New brake pads (spare set included)
Hydraulic handbrake rebuilt
FUEL SYSTEM
Fuel lines checked and cleaned
New fuel pumps & filter
Fuel tank refurbished
WHEELS
Works ENKIE tarmac wheels (refurbished) x 2 sets (as DD used on the car)
One set with inters and one set slicks (tires not new)
BODY
Stripped to bare shell, repaired ie de-rusted and re-sprayed in Dan Daly original colour scheme and fitted with correct stickers
New bumpers front and rear plus wheel arches.
4 x Cibie lights and rear red light as per original fitted
New wheel mud flaps
New windscreen
New bonnet pins
INTERIOR
Seats re-trimmed
New trip meter
New fire protection system
Re-trimmed with original 240RS interior panel (correct DD spec)
DD helmet storage renewed
ELECTRICS
New battery
Original wiring loom retained but repaired/replaced as required
Original lights refurbished replaced as required
New cut out switch
Air horns replaced
Superb LHD tarmac spec car also available.
